Il mondo a parte

Dario is a boy with disabilities who cannot speak or walk but can communicate using a computer through Facilitated Communication with the help of Ada, his “facilitator.” He lives alone with his father, who has recently discovered that he has a severe heart condition and will need to undergo delicate heart surgery . Concerned about his son’s future, as the boy could be left alone in the world if the surgery goes wrong, the man turns to a social worker. The social worker advises him to draft a “Life Project” together with Dario, a document that outlines the son’s needs and wishes for the time when the father will no longer be there.
