The year is 1942, the war is in full swing. Two first-class Soviet snipers, two brothers - Alexey Broshin and Yegor Broshin - return from a combat mission and are ambushed by the Germans. The best Nazi sniper, Wengler, is hunting for them. Wengler kills Yegor and seriously wounds Alexey, so that Alexey barely manages to escape . Alexey ends up in the hospital, where he then undergoes a course of treatment and all this time he lives with only one thought - revenge. Having recovered from his wound, he again wants to return to the front to settle the score for his brother, but he cannot, due to the state of his health.
