To undermine the FOURTH LDRD's power, CHOR kidnaps his subordinate SHEK and sends YUNG to capture the disloyal officials. Missing each other, YUEN and LING are happy meeting again at the Peaceful Mansion. Knowing the FOURTH LORD's crime, YUEN swears to get rid of him. Believing that the officials are kidnapped by YUEN, the FOURTH LORD sends YEUNG to destroy the Peaceful Mansion . YEUNG is later captured by CHOR. CHOR's plot to make public YEUNG's written repentance frightens the FOURTH LORD who immediately holds a meeting to pacify the officials. CHOR interferes during the meeting. CHOR succeeds to confine the FOURTH LORD. YUEN hurriedly brings the EMPEROR back to the capital.
