YAN moves into KUEN’s room on the condition that he pays KUEN $2,000 every month. HUNG tells YAN if he wants to eat with them then he needs to pay for the meals. He agrees. Then she hands him a beggar’s bowl, implying that what he is doing now is no different than asking for food. The water stops suddenly when YAN is taking a shower. HUNG tells him only the first minute of the shower is free . YAN wants to go to TAN’s room to chat with her but HUNG forbids him. TAN asks YAN out. When she hands over him a separation agreement his excitement turns into disappointment. YAN practices guitar in his room. HUNG sings out loudly and minces pork in the sitting room with a view to disturbing him. YAN looks for TAN in her company. Everybody is surprised to know that he is TAN’s husband. YAN is picking up a very important friend at the airport . He hopes that TAN will go with him but she turns him down resolutely.
