In the fog, it wasn't Belle the customs officers had injured, but Sebastian. Guided by Belle, Guillaume found the unconscious child and brought him back to the village to care for him. He entrusted him to Célestine while he returned to the chalet to let them know the child was safe there. Meanwhile, César and the customs officers rushed to the chalet to look for Norbert . But Norbert had fled, setting fire to the storeroom to destroy any evidence of his involvement in the microfilm affair. Jean, busy putting out the fire with the help of Guillaume and the customs officers, had no idea that the two men were there to arrest him and that the police believed him to be Norbert's accomplice.
