Barnabas and Julia enter the drawing room of the Old House. Barnabas has aged very fast. Barnabas accuses Julia of doing this on purpose because she wants his affections. Julia tells him that she told him that she needed more time to get ready. Barnabas says he no one longer has confidence in Julia's work. Barnabas then tells Julia to go to Collinwood an tell Victoria that he can not keep his appointment to watch the sun rise . Julia opens the door, only to find Vickie already there. Vickie wants to talk to Barnabas. Barnabas quickly moves a chair around to make it so that Victoria can not see him. Barnabas tells Victoria that he is sick right now and doesn't want to pass it to her. He says he is going to leave town soon. Victoria leaves. Julia tells Barnabas he should bite Vickie to make himself look young again. At Collinwood, Vickie returns .
