Gangadhar Rao seeks the blessings of Tatya Dixit, before going to his chamber to meet Laxmibai. A priest tells the Prime Minister that Tatya Dixit's calculation regarding the auspicious time for the consummation of Gangadhar and Laxmibai's marriage is wrong and could cause disaster. The Prime Minister confronts Tatya Dixit regarding the same. Moropant too consults the religious almanac and agrees that the time is inappropriate . Moropant gets worried and asks the Prime Minister to stop Gangadhar. Sakhubai, Jankibai and Lacho are delighted. Unaware of these happenings, Laxmibai shows reluctance in getting intimate to Gangadhar, claiming that she is not mentally prepared yet. Tatya Dixit feels offended at the priest's allegation and decided to demand justice from the king. Gangadhar understands Laxmibai's situation and supports her . Gangadhar hears the bell ringing outside the palace and decides to hear out the woe of the complainant.
