Tatya Tope tells Laxmibai that Damodar will not be able to live without her. Moropant realises that he must find a way to convey the news to Laxmibai about Jhansi's annexation. So one of the soldiers pretends to be dead and the British soldiers drag him out of the palace along with the other dead bodies. He then escapes from the fort. Meanwhile, Acharya tells Tatya Tope that something untoward has happened and he will have to revive Laxmibai . At the other tent, Nathey Khan starts laughing aloud saying that only Ladai Sarkar was the queen because Laxmibai would not survive. Tatya Tope decides to teach Nathey Khan a lesson and drags him with a rope. Tatya Tope announces to Ladai Sarkar and Nathey Khan that Laxmibai is still alive. Nathey Khan pleads for mercy but Tatya Tope reminds him how he had backstabbed Laxmibai in return for her kindness.
