So many women have come to MAURY completely terrified of the men they married. They told MAURY that their husbands controlled their every move â€"" what they wore, who they could talk to, even what food they ate. Some of the men were also violent and struck their wives often. The abused wives said they still loved their husbands despite the way they treated them and they were desperate to make their marriages work . Duane West spent some time with the cruel men and tried to help them control their anger instead of controlling the women they claimed to love. Many of the men promised to change for the better.
