Rachel starts to worry when she realizes the police are searching for her. The next morning, Eli notices that she spent the night on a park bench and they get acquainted. She confides in him that her uncle treated her horribly, even poisoning her dog. Meanwhile, Steven tells Betty he wants to sell their apartment, explaining he can't live in a place his mother paid for. Dr . Rossi warns Betty that people with the same career drive as Steven usually suffer from heart attacks at age 40. Rachel meets up with Rita and tells her that she would rather die than go back to Jack Chandler. Eli overhears their conversation and promises her to find out how old she is. He tells her that if she is 21 years old, they can't make her go back to Jack. She trusts him, until she finds out he is Elliot's father.
