Detective Inspector Webster arrives to take fingerprints and question the servants and guests about the disappearance of Lady Alice's jewels. Noting that the drawer was not tampered, an inside job is suspected. Gates confirms to Webster that Jim Tapper has a history of theft and offers Jack's finances as a potential motive, too. When Jim turns up missing, the case appears to be solved . However, the truth about the theft eventually emerges, and apologies are in order.
