CHI goes to the CHUNGs’ mansion and makes a formal apology, following which he plucks up his courage to ask MAN for YEE’s hand in marriage. Now that CHI has given in and come to the CHUNGs’ mansion only for her own sake, YEE is almost moved to tears. The pair are so happy that they give each other a big hug right away. YEE accepts CHI’s proposal in front of her family, and is desperate for her parents’ consent and blessings . LAN is surprised yet a little irked to learn about the relationship between YEE and CHI. MAN asks YEE what she likes about CHI, and YEE goes on to list all his virtues in a row. LAN cannot bear to see YEE live a poor, hard life with CHI. MAN asks CHI to move to the CHUNGs’ mansion upon his marriage to YEE, but CHI refuses at once . MAN needs YEE to make a choice between him and CHI, but YEE is much reluctant to disappoint MAN and is completely at a loss as to how to respond……
